How to create a container in QoreStor and add it to NetVault Backup

Hello, my name is Andre Cooley and welcome to this video demonstration on Quest QoreStor and NetVault backup. In this quick video, we're going to show you how to create an already a container in Quest QoreStor, and then add that container into NetVault backup. So let's get started. Once you log into QoreStor, you'll be presented with the dashboard page. To create a container, simply click on the containers link in the menu to the left. Once in containers, you're going to click on the Add container button, which is the button here. As you can see, you're presented with an ad container menu to the right of the page. Here you can have some options on what storage group and protocol the container will use. But in this instance, we'll use the default group. And since we are backing up to NetVault, use the option to request rapid data storage, or RDS. Let's give the container a name. This could be any name that you choose and click Next. Quest RDS containers always use the backup user account, so we'll just click Next here. And here you can see there is no storage limit for RDS containers themselves, however there is a limit to overall storage, which is based on licensing and physical capacity. We are nearly finished, but here you can overlook the final details before clicking Finish. Success. We can now see our newly created container on our containers page here, and now we are going to add it into NetVault backup. Welcome to the NetVault backup UI. So now that we have RDS container created in NetVault, all that's left to do is to add it into NetVault backup. To do this, we click on the Manage devices linked to the left of the page. This brings us into the Manage Devices page. As you can see here, we already have the Quest QoreStor device added to NetVault, but the container we created still has to be added under this device. To do that, we click on the Add symbol like so. We are now on the Add Media page, which is where we can choose the container that we want to add. So if you remember, there was only one storage group. So we'll click on the drop down menu next to the storage group and choose default group. Then we will click on the container name dropdown. As you can see here, we have a container named QoreStor, so we will select that. Great. Now as you could see, we have the option to change the stream limit, however 256 streams is very sufficient for a single container, and you could change it as needed at any time. So we're pretty much done here. All we have to do is click on the ads media button, and in an instant you get a message indicating the container has been added. And to confirm everything we've just done, all we have to do now is click on the arrow next to the QoreStor device and we can see that a container has been successfully added.
