So we're going to take a brief look at how Foglight for Virtualization can help you manage storage in your Hyper-V environment. On the environment overview page, we're going to get a look at your environment across VMware, Hyper-V, as well as OpenStack. We will see any alarms and the health of our environment.
So we really want to pay attention to what's happening within storage for Hyper-V. So let's go straight into our Hyper-V environment. The environment page is going to allow us to look at Systems Server Center, Virtual Machine Manager, all about clusters, our physical servers, virtual machines, as well as our storage.
When we click on Storage, we're going to get a quick snapshot into all of our volumes, and allow us to also drill into an individual volume by itself. But today specifically, I'm looking for an enterprise view and I want to see how quickly things are growing across all the storage being consumed by Hyper-V. So let's take a quick look at that.
We're going to explore this and we'll be able to see all of our volumes. We'll be able to see their name, their capacity used, total space, free space and importantly, our growth rate. And this dashboard is showing me that volume 1 New 12 R2 cluster has a growth rate of 9.1 gigabytes per week. And is estimated to be full in 529 hours,
If I click, I can drill into this particular cluster shared volume. And when I'm viewing it, I can see our latency and frequent overtime as well as the powered-on VMs and which ones are accounting for the most activity on the disk. So if you had an application team complaining about virtual machine performance, and CPU and memory both look healthy, you're also able to come in here and quickly see what's happening to the volume and maybe identify if there's a VM that's utilizing all of the disk throughput.
