Hello, folks. My name is Robert Pound. And this video, we're going to discuss the overview of the base edition of Toad Data Point. So if you're trying to determine whether Base, Pro, or Pro with Analytics is the right choice for you, here are some things about Base that are helpful.
So this, as the name implies, this is the base of the system. Pro and Pro with Analytics build onto the base and the features and functionalities within the tool. So the first thing you get with the Base edition is connectivity.
So if we open up a create new connections window, you can see not only access to flat files, but all the relational databases that you could conceive of, all the major platforms you can connect to with Toad Data Point Base edition. And for your more exotic RDBMS connections, we have a generic ODBC connection. So you can connect to multiple sources within the tool.
So as you're working with different databases, you can discover and understand how everything is related. When working in the editor, you can take advantage of some of the productivity tools. For instance, we have a SQL formatter. So that way everybody in the team can be on the same page as far as format.
You can also look at some of the tools like Code Snippets and SQL Recall. And in the result sets, you can even use things like the pivot chart and profiling to validate your data and ensure that everything is as expected. You can use automation to automate and schedule your routine tasks. So that way you can focus on the more pressing business items.
And that's a quick rundown of some of the key features in the Base edition of Toad Data Point.
