[MUSIC PLAYING] Quest Toad for Oracle Developers Edition can help ensure that your database code will be accurate before it gets to production by testing the code at any step of your build release process. Let's find out more about the problem and how Toad addresses it.
Dude, I've never seen Christine that mad before.
I know. That was rough. Did you see the fire in her eye?

[SLAP]
Yeah. She went crazy, didn't she?
OK. We may be remembering that scene a little bit differently, although I do wish she would have slapped you in the face.
Yeah, what was her deal anyway?
We missed some bugs in our code, hot shot. Hence the reason I'm sitting here late at night poring over code and I'm not at my son's soccer game.
Hey, we can't let this happen again. I can't stay here till 7 o'clock every night.
Shh, I think she's coming.
Hey, guys. I came to apologize for earlier today.
It's all good. No need to apologize, Christine.
I mean, we're under so much pressure right now with this new Agile methodology. I mean, how's testing coming?
It's going OK. We're desk checking the code by hand, but it's going to take some time.
Yeah, we spend as much time as we can testing the code changes that we write, but the reality is, it's just a time-consuming, manual process.
Yeah, but there has to be a better way to do this. We can't possibly be here this late every night.
I mean, we could cut some tests, but we'd have, probably, the same issue like we had this morning. And nobody wants to put bad code in production. I don't want to put bad code in production.
There's got to be some automation tools out there, but we're going up the budget in order to buy it.
And the time to learn how they work.
Actually, you know what? It's funny that you mentioned that, because we may already have an automation tool available.
Really?
Yeah, really. So I was talking to a sales rep earlier this morning, and they said that we should be using a code-tester module inside Toad.
That's a capability within the Toad Developer Edition, I'm guessing?
Yeah. So he said that you can design tests while PL/SQL code is written, and then you can automate and save them to run before you check the code in. Should we check it out? Awesome. This might avoid future fiery outbursts.
Let's check this thing out, G.
I think it's going to work out. The code tester's really helping with the sprints.
Awesome. [CLEARS THROAT] Hey, there, Robert.
Hey, there, Christine.
Guess what I noticed? We haven't had any issues with the code in the last week or so.
I was just telling her about code tester. And want to show her?
Yeah, we'd love to. So Christine, check this out. Created some unit tests of some PL/SQL code, automated it, got passing results all week long.
Hey, that's great.
So we had some failures earlier in the week. Guess what? They're all green due to his automation.
You guys, this looks awesome. Whatever keeps our applications' owners happy keeps us happy. That's awesome. Great job you guys. Keep up the good work.
That's right.
[CLAP]
Thanks. Hey, and by the way, not having to stay at work till 7:00 PM every night, awesome.
Yeah, but dude, you're going to be here late anyway. If you keep gawking at fantasy football, you're going to be here past 7:00.
No regrets, G.
