Hi. I'm Sean Nutley, and I'd like to welcome you to the Unified Communications Analytics subscriptions overview video demonstration.
Let's start off with configuring the subscription's general settings under the Admin settings. First you need to enable the subscriptions, and then you have two options on how insights can be sent-- it's either by email or by saving them to a file.
Since I used the email option, we need to configure the SMTP settings. First, set your SMTP server that will be responsible for sending the subscriptions. Here we need to set the sender's email address or the from address. Then it is always best practice to send a test subscription to make sure it's working properly. Enter a valid sender's email address and then send the test subscription. And if you look at the top of the screen, you can see that it was sent successfully. You also have an option for retry on subscription failure. So I'm going to save those settings and I'm going to show you how an insight can be sent via a subscription.
Let's access the Subscriptions feature. Let's add a new subscription. Let's give it a logical name. I'm going to give it a start date-- let's pick the first of the month. Set it to monthly to run, and have it on the first day of the month.
Now I'm going to look for the custom insight I created. They're usually located at the bottom of the list, so I'm just going to select that Email Activity Last Month. I'm going to have it sent by email, and then you can see the list of all the different types of attachments that you can have it sent as. Now enter an email address or addresses. If you want to send to multiple people, you're going to need to separate them by semicolon. Now just add a logical subject-- I'm just going to name it the exact same as the insight. You also have options for body header or body footer, I don't need none of that. Just click Create and it's done.
Now you have some different options. You can Refresh Subscription Statuses, you can run the subscription now. Another option is to display the history of the subscription. It's never been run before, so it's not showing any history. You can also export the history if you'd like, too. And if you want to remove the subscription, just hit the little X.
And that concludes this video demonstration. Thank you for taking the time to watch, and there'll be many more to come. To learn more about Unified Communications Analytics, visit Quest.com.
