Generating reports in Toad Data Point

Toad offers a variety of ways to generate a report. From any data grid, you can right click and send to the report designer. A wizard will guide you through the selection of columns, grouping, layout type, title, and description. The designer provides options for the layout of your report. The preview tab at the bottom left will run the query and show you how the report will look. When you're done designing the report, it can be exported into a variety of formats including PDF and Excel. You can also email the report from the toolbar. Managing reports can be done by the project manager or the report manager. From the report designer, you can choose to save and add your report to the project manager. This will save the file and add it to the project manager under the reports node. Double clicking on the report will open and rerun the report. The report manager is a docked window available from the view menu. Some database platform types include reports on database objects. You can add your custom reports to the report manager by right clicking and using the add existing report action. Double clicking the report here will also rerun the report. Reports can be created from a data grid, as already shown, or from entering a query. This type of report can be accessed from the right click menu of the report manager. The wizard will ask you to enter your SQL query. Here, you can type in the query or open a SQL file. The wizard then guides you through the details of the report. Clicking finish will open the report designer. Toad Reports provides an easy way to produce fast and professional looking reports from your database results.
