Setting up a boot ISO for Windows with NetVault Bare Metal Restore

Hi, I'm Steve England at Quest. This is a short video clip on how to set up the WinP boot ISO for Quest NetVault Bare Metal Restore. To do this, we have a windows server. It has nothing special about it. I've created to be BMR folder on the C drive. In there, I have downloaded the NetVault BMR ISO create utility as a zip file. I've also got the Windows 8 ADK ready for installation. That is acquired from this place here on the Microsoft site. And the ADK specifically is for Windows 8. You download that one. Download it as an offline install, so that you have all the binaries, so it can be installed anywhere. And then you execute the installation here. Use the default installation path. You need to know that path for later when we're using the utility. And the deployment tools and the Windows pre-installation environment WinP are the only parts we need to install that. While waiting for that to install, open a command window as administrator. See, essential administrator privileges are there. Move to the BMR folder that's already been created. In addition, unzip a utility. And then drag the two files, which is the executable to create the image of the packet as added into the WinP environment. Paste those into the BMR folder. So that is now ready. And we will see the EXE from the packet available to run. And see, ADK installation is complete. Then we can prepare the ISO. So the next thing to do then is create a subfolder. In this case, I'll call it vault DR. And this is where the ISO will be dumped into. Then we run the NVBMR ISO create utility with this syntax here. So it's a type ADK. This is the package we're referencing over here. This is the source where the ADK is installed. It will find the files it needs from that point. And this is the out where, sends the NetVault BMR to ISO file. It requires an empty folder to do this. And then you press enter. Now the utility is complete, I'll now go into the vault DR folder. Here is the ISO ready for extracting, burning on a CD, DVD, USD stick, or mounting it through a virtual environment so we can boot a blank machine.
