How to license Toad DevOps Toolkit

Hello. My name's John Pocknell, Product Manager for Toad DevOps Toolkit. Welcome to the second part of our getting started with Toad DevOps Toolkit. In part one, we talked about how to download and install Toad DevOps Toolkit onto your Windows machine. And in this part, we're going to talk about how to license Toad DevOps Toolkit. This License Manager launches automatically from when the installer is complete, and you can also launch License Manager from the Windows Start button. Just be careful to ensure that you run as administrator. And you can also manage licenses directly on Toad World, and I'll show you how to do that in a second. So in this window, you can see we've got a number of tabs, license keys, access keys, resources, and feedback. We'll get into each of these in a second. You can see here that my trial key-- this is actually the embedded 30-day trial key that comes with Toad DevOps Toolkit-- has expired, and I'll need to add a new one. So for that, you need to contract Quest sales-- and there's a link for that in this window-- and request an extension to your trial. You can also do the same thing here, which will contact a sales rep in Quest, and they'll reach out to you. And then they'll send you an email with a trial extension in, a bit like this one. And then you can add in the licensing information into this window, which is what I'm going to do now. So I first of all need to click on Add. And then in here, I add the license number that came in the email, together with the site message, and click OK. And you see now I have a new trial-- or trial extension, and a new expiration date. The next tab over is Access Keys. This is going to show your access keys, and you'll need to create an access key, which is like a token, which Toad DevOps Toolkit uses to validate a license without requiring internet access. And this will be unique to you. So this is stored on your Windows machine. Access keys are secret, and ties to your personal Toad World account. Need to be careful with access keys to make sure that you keep it to yourself, because distributing access keys to others may result in violation of your software license agreement. So to create an access key, you click the Add button. You enter a name for the license key and click OK, and you're done. And you'll get an access key displayed, like this. The resource page of License Manager gives you quick access to local and online resources that will help you get started with Toad DevOps Toolkit, as well as contact information for sales and technical support. The final page of the License Manager provides you an option to give us feedback on your use of Toad DevOps Toolkit. So that's going to collect usage information. If you want to participate in that, check the Yes radio button, and this will pass usability information back to Quest so that we can see how you're using the product and continue to improve the product. And that's it. So that's the License Manager utility. As I mentioned, can also manage your licenses from your Toad World account, so if you go to www.toadworld.com, you can create an account in here. This is my one. I click on my name here to view my profile. And in my profile, you can see that there is an Account Pal. And if I launch Toad Licensing, I'll see pretty much the same information I saw before in the License Manager with my expired initial trial and my new trial that I entered, together with some of the other information as well.
