Hi, my name is Randy Rempel, and I'm a Senior Product Manager with Dell Software. This is the second part of multi-part video series on how to migrate a Notes application to SharePoint. In this video, I will show how to transform a Notes form into a Nintex form. I'm in the migrator for Notes to SharePoint tool. And we'll open the database properties here for the leave request application.
I've already run scan design on this application. I'm going to start the transformation process. MNSP can transform to a compatible Nintex 2010 form. Here I can select which form elements to include. I want to have most of the elements included. Later, I can remove some when I finish designing the form in the Nintex form designer.
It's often easier to remove than to add fields. You can always repeat this process if you're not satisfied with the results. I can also change the destination file name here. I can change the field mapping options on the screen. I'm going to leave them as is and continue. I can change the default control sizes on the screen. I prefer to leave the settings and make changes in the Nintex form designer.
So now we're ready to migrate. The migration process does not take very long. The next step would be to open the form in the Nintex designer. There, you can finish making changes to the design. I will show you how to provision the list and view the form after running a migration job, but for the purposes of this video, I've already provisioned the list so that I can show you the form.
So on the left side, I'm displaying how the leave request form appears in Lotus Notes. On the right side, I already imported the form into the Nintex form designer. Now we can compare the two forms together to see how closely they match. All of the same labels and fields are displayed. The same formatting is applied to the fonts and to the tables.
The choices for leave type displays the same choice values. Even the default values are the same-- annual leave. I'll modify this form later. I make the description field much larger, as you see here. I'll make this much larger. I'll move the labels and resize and move the other fields. That's it for this video.
