How to integrate source control into Toad for Oracle

Hello, my name is Robert Pound. And I am a product technologist for Quest. This video will cover integrating source control into Toad for Oracle. To do this, we will set up Team Coding. For this demo, I've already established a connection to the desired database. So the first thing we will do to setup source control in Toad for Oracle, is come to the team coding at the top. And choose Configuration. At this point if you have a version controlled system that you want to interact with, you can select it here and set it up. But I won't be covering that in this video. If you are interested, you can checkout enabling agile development version control to get more information on the specifics on that. In the configuration, you will choose Install Team Coding, Database. And we will select the defaults. You can install it into the current schema. But it's recommended to create your own to use the Toad schema to keep all of your service control information in one spot. And the TC admin role will be created to administer the source control. So I will choose Next. And Finish. Now that the scheme was created, we will want to actually create a project so that we can manage our source. So I will come to Team Projects. And I will choose Create New Project. So we'll go ahead name this FebDemo. We can name the project whatever we like. But we'll go ahead and add our schemas at this point. I'm going to add 2 to this particular project. And click OK. Now, at this point we can select specific objects that we want to have under control. For instance, if we wanted just functions and procedures or tables, we could select them here. And we will go ahead and click OK. And our new project is now under control. And we could continue adding project as we see fit. But I'm going to go ahead and click OK. So we, again, come to Team Coding. We can choose Team Coding Manager. And this will give us a view of what's currently under control for a given project. So we currently only have one. But we can see all the different objects that are under our service control. And if we want to check something out for editing, we can right click, and check out. And then, we will be the only ones that can edit this object until we check it back in.
