Dr. Laura Gemmell is the founder and technical CEO of Taught by Humans, a platform that helps organizations build safe, compliant, and applied AI and data capability. She holds a PhD in AI education for the public from the University of Bristol and UWE, completed in 2017, when few outside research were discussing AI.
Before founding Taught by Humans, Laura spent more than a decade working in data and AI, including on the News International phone hacking scandal at PwC, launching mobile payments at Worldpay, and heading fraud data science at Monzo.
She has also taught thousands of people to code through organizations including Code First: Girls, Ada the National Digital College, and the University of Bristol.
