[MUSIC PLAYING] My name is Travis Geske. I work at John A Logan College. And I'm Senior Director of Network Infrastructure. My primary responsibility is overseeing data center operations, networking operations, and anything else that's connected to the network or anything like that. We have approximately 600 employees. And then we're also working in the higher ed space. And we have a little bit over 4,000 students at any given point in time.
The products that we have are the Case SMA and the SDA. We implemented them in 2014. We've been using them ever since. So I was involved in the decision of implementing the Case products both the SDA and the SMA because we had a need for a better patch management, endpoint and asset tracking, and then also for better imaging in our computer labs and for our office endpoints.
The most utilized piece that we have right now is from the Case SMA, and it's the service desk feature, our information technology department depends and lives out of that feature. So that's how we know what's going on from day to day and also being able to help our students and faculty and staff at the institution keep track of what we're doing with them. And then the second piece that we find very important is also the asset and asset tracking that's been very helpful for us as well.
What would happen if we didn't have the Case appliances in our environment? We know that if we don't have the Case SMA running that it is difficult for the department to function because we live inside of it. That's what's telling us what we're doing from a day-to-day basis. That's how communication is happening for trouble and problems that come into the environment. And that's how our interdepartmental communication can see what's happening depending on what's going wrong.
And then also when we're working with endpoints specifically in the Case SMA, it's very responsive to inventorying and getting very rapid results from those endpoints especially if change has been made, and we need to initiate that quickly. I found that very, very helpful in the appliance because it was responsive, and it's easy and quick to get information out of it, easy to learn.
