Introduction to new automation tutorials in Toad Data Point

Hi, my name is Julie Hyman. And I'm the Product Manager for the Toad Business Intelligence Suite of Products, which includes Toad Data Point. In this short video I'll be showing how we've enhanced our automation by adding automation tutorials in Toad Data Point version 3.3. So the intent behind this new automation tutorial is to guide the user quickly to build some of the most popular automation workflows that we have. The tutorial can be accessed either through the main toolbar, with tools, automation tutorial. Or through the send automation link which appears at the bottom of your main workflow window. So either here, when I'm building a query. Or, as part of my result set. And I'll just go ahead and use it off the main menu right now. Once in the automation tutorial, you can choose from one of the five most popular, most widely used automation workflows. And simply select which one. In this case, we'll export data and email it. And you're going to get an overview of that workflow and then a guided tour of all of the information that you need to provide to complete this workflow. So picking your connection, picking your sequel statement either from a file, or just by adding it directly. Choosing where you want the file that you're creating to be and the name. And we'll just choose Movie information. And then choosing the email information that you want to use. In this case, me. Let the system turn these into real emails. And finally, the file that you want to add to the email that's going to go out, if there is one. And so when you're done with the automation window, it will take you into a completed automation workflow. Which you could simply save and schedule. Or, you can continue to tweak this workflow to add additional items.
