The KACE K1000 Systems Management Appliance is available in three different deployment options to best fulfill your organizational and IT needs. You can purchase the K1000 as a physical on-premises appliance and simply plug it into your environment. Or, you can deploy the K1000 as an on-premises virtual appliance and run it on your own servers utilizing VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V. As a third option, you can also have Dell host the K1000 in our own data centers and subscribe to the K1000 under a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model (K1000 as a Service).

How it works:

Experience out-of-the-box deployment with the K1000 physical appliance
The physical K1000 appliance is a true plug-and-play appliance that’s easy to deploy and easy for your IT team to manage. In fact, more than half of K1000 customers fully deploy their K1000 appliance in less than two weeks. Simply take your new K1000 out of the box, connect to your network, assign it an IP address and you’re on your way.
Enjoy benefits of a virtual environment with the K1000 Virtual Appliance
For those organizations that have deployed a virtual environment, the K1000 is also available as a virtual appliance running on VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V virtual environments. What’s more, the Virtual K1000 provides you with all of the advantages of a plug-and-play on-premises appliance plus the added benefits gained from virtualization. Simply download the K1000 from our data warehouse and install it on the supported virtual environment of your choice  — Virtual K1000 supports VMware ESX/ESXi 5.5 or higher (Open Virtualization Format (OVF) 1.0) and Windows Server® 2012/ 2012 R2 with Hyper-V Server 2012/2012 R2.
Avoid infrastructure costs with K1000 as a Service
The K1000 as a Service provides you with all of the features and functionality of the K1000 on-premises appliance, in a hosted, cloud-delivered virtual appliance. The K1000 as a Service provides each organization its own dedicated virtual K1000 appliance instance (VK appliance). This means your data is not intermingled with those of other organizations, providing you with added security and making it easier to comply with security regulations. And because Dell™ takes care of the hosting, you do not have to worry about allocating data center capacity or any resources to manage the K1000 in your own infrastructure. Since the K1000 as a Service does not require any upfront capital expense, it can be easier for you to financially justify obtaining a comprehensive anypoint systems management solution, as it can be allocated as an operational expense vs. a capital expense.
