Thanks for your interest in Quest on Demand, your go-to Sas dashboard for tackling Microsoft challenges in a hybrid world. I'm Shawny Reiner, Senior Strategic Systems Consultant at Quest. In this short video tour, I'm going to explain what on-demand group management is and show you one of the on-demand group management features.
If you've taken any of the other tours, you know that ODGM is a Sas-based group management tool for on prem only, hybrid, and Azure only groups. It allows for controlled self-service creation, management, and attestation, as well as provides the administrator with a single pane for the whole hybrid environment.
From the admin portal activities page, you, as the admin, can review approvals and attestations, past and current, for all groups, whether they are on-prem only, hybrid, or Azure only groups. And it shows all the requests that have been initiated by admins and users and the auto attestation workflows.
There's four activities available for the admin to review. Admin approvals or those requests that have the directory admins in the approval workflow process. These also display in the self-services when complete.
For the admin approvals page, you can see the requested action, the requester, the group impacted, when it was submitted, and the state of the request. And just like the self-services portal, you can choose to approve, reject, or cancel from here.
If you click the View option, it provides you with information about the steps that have been completed, and still to be completed, who the owners and members are, and general information about the group.
Self-service requests are those that are generated from the self-service portal. Just like the admin approvals page, it indicates what the request is, who the requester is, the group impacted, when it was submitted, and the state.
And you can also view the information much like the admin approvals page. Admin attestations are those attestations initiated by an admin. And the attestation policy in effect on the group, the group name, when it was submitted, and its state is displayed in the view.
And you can choose to view or report this information. Clicking the view shows you the steps that have been taken, the individuals involved, and you can also choose to print a report from here.
So the activities page gives the admin a single place to understand and manage the group activity for any group, whether it's on-prem, hybrid, or Azure, helping the admin to navigate in the complicated maze that is groups in a hybrid world.
So that's the quick tour. Ready to get started? Check www.Quest.com/on-demand and navigate to on-demand group management to learn more. Be sure to check out the other available videos.
