Engineering Innovation Delivers on Customer Efficiency with Quest KACE

I am IT Manager with Engineering Innovation based out of Lafayette, Indiana. We are an industrial automation provider for logistics and postal. So we have over 300 customers scattered around the United States-- that all of our machines are just your regular PC. But their machine controllers that control all the robotics and everything with the equipment then help the sort and automate the business needs of the customer. When we were first starting out with all of the machines that we have out there that run robotics and everything else with the postal and logistics companies, we ended up having to put everything onto CDs. So it would be myself and three other people would get a stack of 50 CDs, and over the week we would be burning all the updates and all the software onto the CDs. It was incredibly time sensitive. And the time that we're making the CDs, we're still trying to answer phone calls, and take care of our customers. And with KACE, it allowed us to have an agent loaded on all of the machines out there in the field that are behind customer routers that we don't have access to. We can automate a lot of the installation process for them without them ever knowing that there's a problem that they need to take care of. With that part gone, and KACE to be there to automate us, and give us a heads up on how things are running out in the field, it's a number I can't even put anything on as how much it saved us in time and money. So from an efficiency standpoint KACE has been absolutely awesome for us. We're an MSP. So we utilize KACE from an MSP perspective on behalf of our customers for their machines. In an enterprise environment, you have dedicated times-- everybody's out of the building at 6:00 PM. Well, in an MSP, because you're different time zones, some people work third shift, it can have an impact on when we can do updates with those machines. So that's our biggest challenge working with it. There's a customer with over 600 devices that is looking to move from Windows 7 to Windows 10 by the end of the year. And rather than sending out technicians to each of those sites to do the installs, we're looking at having KACE take advantage of performing those updates for us, and checking in to make sure they're all set to go. We installed KACE, started doing a proof of concept with it, and we were actively utilizing all within under a month. And we started seeing ROIs pretty much a week to two weeks afterwards, once we started being able to push updates out to the field and get responses back saying, hey, the update went, everything is good the go. The company was very excited with it. And since then, here we are four years going strong, and looking to be still a long time customer with you all. KACE has saved me time, period. So any time that I'm not having to work with machines, keeping them updated, it's saving me time at the end of the day to where it's just one less thing that I have to worry about, and can sleep better at night knowing. It is incredibly easy from an implementation. And you don't have to have a whole lot of a learning curve involved when you're trying to use KACE I've been bringing on additional administrators with the support team and software teams involved with our customers. And usually within a week I can turn them loose on KACE And they know the ins and outs, how to troubleshoot things when things aren't going correctly. And I have nothing but glowing reviews regarding the product.
