Hello and welcome to this On Demand Audit getting started and onboarding video. My name's Luke Buckley and in this video, we're going to go over the general use of the product, how to log in, and some things to watch out for when you first get your welcome email. Here you can see the On Demand general dashboard. One of the first things we're going to have to do when our tenant is added is to grant full consent for the accounts that are used by Quest on Demand to perform audit operations.
We do this by clicking tenants in the left nav bar. And then with our tenant listed, we click go. Here we can see the actions that the Quest On Demand global administrator account has been permitted. We're mainly interested in the auditing section. So we then click grant consent. And here we authenticate with the global administrator account that we designated for Quest on Demand use. So this account needs to have full global administrator rights to your Office 365 or Azure tenant.
Here it chose the specific permissions that it's asking for and then we click Accept. After a few moments, the permissions and consent are updated and you can see that it is granted on this tenant. Keep in mind that it may take a moment for your dashboard section to update correctly. But you can just go to the auditing section on the left nav bar and we can get started. Here there's a widget displayed for your tenant and you can actually pick and choose which items of Azure or Office 365 you want to audit.
And for demo purposes here, we're just going to audit all services and click Save. You can also add your existing on premises Change Auditor installation with a subscription to the Office 365 and On Demand services. If you click on it, it'll give you some instructions on how to do this from your Change Auditor on-prem client. But before doing this, there's some important things regarding the welcome email, an organization creation process that we should go over first.
Before implementing change audit or integration, you need to ensure that you've received a welcome email for your On Demand audit purchase. Because that account, that contact, is going to be what's required to sign in to On Demand for the first time and implement On Demand audit as well as delegate access for other users. So when you receive your welcome email, it'll look something like this shown on the screen. And there will be a lot of helpful information and some getting started videos included within it.
Before you click on Sign in and configure, however, you need to make sure that you have that sold to email, the one that received the welcome email, and log in with their Quest password ready to go. If it's your first time logging into On Demand, you'll be asked to create an organization and select an organization name. Make sure you select something that pertains to your business identity. And also make sure that you select the correct region because that kind of controls which services and features are available to you based on how we roll things out.
So when your organization is created and you're logged in and have On Demand audit enabled with the steps earlier in this video, you'll be able to connect your on-prem Change Auditor client with the subscription to On Demand audit. We'll cover that process briefly in this next video clip. So within your Change Auditor on-prem client window, go to the Administration section. And under Configuration you'll see a section for On Demand audit there. Select that and you'll have some options to register for an On Demand audit subscription.
So when you click Register, a login screen for On Demand will come up and that's where you enter that main log in information that was originally the sold to contact with On Demand audit. After authenticating you'll be prompted which organization you want to set up this subscription for. You select the one that you created to use with On Demand audit. And here you enter your on-prem Change Auditor installation name. This is given during every new installation of Change Auditor and if you use the defaults during this, the installation name will be called just that.
Then we click Next and registration is complete. So to recap, if no organization was created yet you won't be able to complete the subscription wizard properly. You need to properly create an organization in On Demand and then go through this process. Remember it's important that you use the original email that has initial access to the On Demand service.
So now that we know our organization has created and On Demand services have been granted access to the Microsoft tenant, you can click the auditing tab in the left nav bar and an overview screen for On Demand audit will load up. Here you have a comprehensive pie chart and timeline bar graph view of all event types that you've chosen to audit over a select period of time. You can even change the length of the timeline pretty easily with the slider bar and be as granular or as broad as required.
You can even show by date, or even view service heat map, which can show where certain event types are actually coming from. You can also view a sign ins heat map, which shows you where the users that are utilizing this console are actually logging in from, gives you a comprehensive view of multiple activity time lines and graphs, and you can view geographical heat map to locate these users. And you can adjust this heat map by service type or even by username.
Next up is the Search tab and that's where you're going to get the bulk of your information that you need from On Demand audit. You can
