Welcome to a demo of the KACE Cloud Mobile Device Management Solution. Our cloud hosted MDM solution enables you to easily inventory, manage, and secure mobile devices on your network. Plus, get a single pane of glass management for both mobile and traditional devices by integrating KACE Cloud MDM with the KACE systems management appliance at no additional cost.
In this demo, I will show you these key features-- technical specs, licensing, device enrollment, device inventory, device actions, certificate management, application management, device restrictions, Wi-Fi management, VPN management, and KACE SMA integration.
Tech specs. We support iOS version 8 or higher and Android version 5 or higher. All major browsers are supported and are shown below. To learn more, please visit quest.com. Sign in. You can connect your KACE Cloud MDM instance to a SAML or OpenID Connect enabled service for easy single sign on access to the interface as well as for the enrollment process.
Licensing. The KACE Cloud MDM solution is a cloud-hosted SaaS application and is subscription based. It is licensed by the number of devices you wish to manage and can be billed quarterly or yearly. Integration into the KACE systems management appliance comes at no extra charge.
Enrollment. After your KACE Cloud MDM tenant has been spun up, you'll be given a log in so you may begin enrolling your devices. To enroll, click the Enroll button here and simply send your unique URL to the device. Or copy and paste the link and instructions in an email, as shown below. You will be walked through the enrollment process and prompted to install certificates and profiles on your device.
Once enrolled, your device record will appear here in your list. From there, you can configure various settings, search through your device lists using the filters on the left-hand side, and much more.
Inventory. The Devices page will allow you to view various details about each device you have enrolled. You can also search for devices with the least of available filters on the left. Inventory will show you items such as the make, model, user logged in, installed apps, mobile carrier, and much, much more.
Device actions. Refresh refreshes the page for the device. Lock sends a lock command to the device if it is unlocked. Clear passcode will clear the current passcode set on the device. Inventory forces the device to send the most current inventory information. More actions will allow you to do things such as unenroll the device, which removes any settings or information pushed to the device from KACE Cloud MDM. This is valuable in the event that the device is lost or stolen and you want to remove and secure your company data on the device.
And reset factory completely wipes that device back to factory settings. This option is only available for company-owned devices. For DEP or supervised iOS devices, you can also do additional actions, such as additional restrictions; check for iOS updates and push iOS updates; enable lost mode, which allows you to locate the device and sends a message to the lock screen; play a lost sound mode; set the wallpaper; or clear user restrictions, as well as remove the activation lock from the device.
Accounts. Accounts is where you will see any and available all email accounts configured on the device. You can also configure email accounts for your devices here. Multiple email providers are available, including Exchange, ActiveSync, POP, and IMAP, and Google. Any account information done here will be stored in your library section for distributing to all your devices.
Apps. From apps, you can see all available installed apps, as well as push any new apps, either from the Apple or Google Play stores. Or you can upload your own app package file, as well. Apps can be pushed to individual or multiple devices. Any apps deployed to your devices will be stored in your library section for distributing to all your devices.
Certificates. Certificates allows you to view and deploy certificates to your device for such thing as managing proxy or Wi-Fi configuration. You can pull currently installed certificates to add to your library, or you can upload the certificate file yourself. Any certificates configured for deployment will also be stored in your library section for your deployment to all your devices.
Passcode. This will allow you to configure passcode enforcement rules, such as the number of minimum required characters, reuse of old pass codes, and auto-wiping failure after so many attempts. You can set different default passcodes, also, for company-owned and personal devices on both iOS and Android.
iOS profiles. iOS profiles allows you to view what profiles are installed on your device, such as the ones we install with KACE Cloud MDM, as well as upload your own iOS profiles created with Apple configurators to your application.
Restrictions. This allows you to turn certain features on and off on your device, such as access to the camera, use of the app store, and much, much more. With DEP and supervised devices, there are additional actions you can restrict and configure.
Wi-Fi. You can configure Wi-Fi networks for configuration on your devices. You can enter all the needed information, such as the SSID, Wi-Fi passcode, security type, as well as any proxy information. Any Wi-Fi configurations created will be stored under your library section and can be used for deployment to all your devices.
VPN. Configure your VPN connections to your devices here, and set them as a default for your newly enrolled devices. KACE SMA integration. Integrating your KACE Cloud MDM is simple and easy to set up. Once connected, you will see all of your MDM devices listed right alongside your other network managed devices from within your KACE system management appliance. Along with being able to view, search, and create labels for your MDM devices, you can also perform actions for those in the device list without even having to log into the MDM interface, such as
