The cost of doing nothing

Data archiving, backup and disaster recovery may not be glamorous technologies and they may have no easily quantifiable impact on profit margin, but that’s not the whole story. When the chips are down and disaster strikes, the right tools can make the difference between the business carrying on regardless or going under.

This V3 Resources white paper, The Cost of Doing Nothing, explains why thinking beyond traditional cost/benefit analyses is especially important for planning and cost justifying a disaster recovery solution adequate for a modern data center. Remarkably, despite the potential for serious harm to the business, over half of the companies V3 surveyed did not have a strategic backup and recovery plan in place.  If your firm has a less than stellar plan in place, you need to read this paper.
