The KACE Systems Management Appliance is available in three different deployment options to best fulfill your organizational and IT needs. You can purchase the KACE SMA as a physical on-premises appliance and simply plug it into your environment. Or, you can deploy the KACE SMA as an on-premises virtual appliance and run it on your own servers utilizing VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V. As a third option, you can also have Dell host the KACE SMA in our own data centers and subscribe to the KACE SMA under a software-as-a-service (SaaS) model (KACE as a Service).

How it works:

Experience out-of-the-box deployment with the KACE SMA physical appliance
The physical KACE SMA appliance is a true plug-and-play appliance that’s easy to deploy and easy for your IT team to manage. In fact, more than half of KACE SMA customers fully deploy their KACE SMA appliance in less than two weeks. Simply take your new KACE SMA out of the box, connect to your network, assign it an IP address and you’re on your way.
Enjoy benefits of a virtual environment with the KACE SMA Virtual Appliance
For those organizations that have deployed a virtual environment, the KACE SMA is also available as a virtual appliance running on VMware or Microsoft Hyper-V virtual environments. What’s more, the Virtual KACE SMA provides you with all of the advantages of a plug-and-play on-premises appliance plus the added benefits gained from virtualization. Simply download the KACE SMA from our data warehouse and install it on the supported virtual environment of your choice  — Virtual KACE SMA supports VMware ESX/ESXi 5.5 or higher (Open Virtualization Format (OVF) 1.0) and Windows Server® 2012/ 2012 R2 with Hyper-V Server 2012/2012 R2.
Avoid infrastructure costs with KACE as a Service
KACE as a Service provides you with all of the features and functionality of the KACE SMA on-premises appliance, in a hosted, cloud-delivered virtual appliance. KACE as a Service provides each organization its own dedicated virtual KACE appliance instance (VK appliance). This means your data is not intermingled with those of other organizations, providing you with added security and making it easier to comply with security regulations. And because Dell™ takes care of the hosting, you do not have to worry about allocating data center capacity or any resources to manage the KACE SMA in your own infrastructure. Since KACE as a Service does not require any upfront capital expense, it can be easier for you to financially justify obtaining a comprehensive anypoint systems management solution, as it can be allocated as an operational expense vs. a capital expense.
