[MUSIC PLAYING] Indigo Mountain was formed really to start doing jump-start training for Kace, when Kace moved across into the UK market. We provide professional services for Quest, consulting on Kace. And we also provide the odd additional product which enhances the Kace usage for customers and improves the functionality.
We find that Kace is pretty invaluable to customers, because it saves them time. It saves them money. And it does that in any number of different ways, because the functionality can be automated. So, therefore, they don't have to sit in front of a screen and wait for things to happen.
They don't lose stuff so much, because they're tracking it and they're updating it. They're able to deploy software items. They're able to deploy full builds to systems. And it gives them a management feel where they can feel they know what's going on in an organization.
Today, patching and security is a major thing. So the ability to actually patch and secure and identify those machines within the organization is very key to customers, because they don't want to be hit a WannaCry and those types of viruses-- particularly in the National Health Service, in the UK. We got calls from customers very quickly, and we used Kace to patch and protect their systems as best we could.
Windows 10 is also very current with customers. The ability to migrate-- some customers are still on really old versions of Windows. And now, with the way that Microsoft sells licenses, Kace is helping them to actually think about how they can distribute Windows 10 in their environment-- and not just distribute, but to manage and actually turn it into much more of a business app.
So mobile management has always really been on the radar, for around about the last 10 years. But, with Kace latest release, with mobile cloud management, our customers are really starting to use that and use the functionality. They're keen to get really into it and see that mobile device management becoming part of their device management. So they see everything on a single pane of glass, which is what's important to them.
The functionality that mobile management gives them is also key with Kace, because they can then wipe and lock and secure their data. And that's really important from a European perspective, because GDPR regulations that come in any day now are very much focused on data loss. And, if you lose data, if you're not secured, if you're not encrypted in the right way, you're going to be on the wrong end of a big, fat fine.
One of the things that we learned about Kace a number of years ago is that, if you layer the information within the K1000, [? within ?] the systems management applied correctly, when the Microsoft auditors come in and they sit down in front of the console, you can see, here's my machine. This is what's installed.
This is the asset that it's linked to. There's the software license that's associated with it. And there's the purchase order. And the auditors tend to go, that's it, we're done! Thank you very much.
So Kace is really a powerful tool. What we really like about Kace is the fact that, with software license compliance, we also have the ability to identify when software's not being used. And therefore the customer can pull that license back and uninstall it remotely, using a managed installation. And therefore they can redistribute that license without actually purchasing it. And that, again, is another key return on investment that customers can exercise.
In the UK marketplace, we have a number of key verticals that we work with. And the National Health Service-- so, our hospitals and health care-- is very key. Not least of all because it gives the individual health service areas the ability to save money, in terms of purchasing and procurement and those types of things, by keeping control of their environment, and also through patching and making sure everything's safe and secure.
One of the areas that we see Kace fitting really well is when we deal with customers in the US marketplaces and education sector. The education sector, the ability to control things within a school, within a college, the ability to reimage a classroom. We've worked with customers whereby they can reimage 30 PCs and set them back to a standard image, over a lunch break, is really good. Which means that they're actually able to provide their students with a much better learning experience.
As a partner, selling Kace is quite a pleasure. I mean, I wouldn't class myself as a salesman, but I can understand the benefits of solution selling. And so, to have a customer come to me and say, do you know what? We've got an issue with security. We need to patch and make sure that our systems are secure.
It then becomes quite an easy sell to actually say, well, look, here's a tool. Here's how it works. Here's how you automate it. Not only do you get a tool that protects and makes sure that you can keep on working, but actually you don't need to sit and watch it, every hour of the day, because you can leave it to do the stuff if it's configured correctly. So that's one of the things that I really love. Even I can do it.
