Changing the frequency on a foglight cartridge written in python

I have a cartridge that is written in python. I'm currently trying to get in to only "check in" every 10 minutes instead of the default 60 seconds. I've changed the the "sample_freq" setting from "60" to "600" in hopes that this would change it. However, the change wasn't effective. Is there another setting/method used to change this particular characteristic?

    I think I've found the answer to my issue. For me at least to get it to work, I had to change the sample_freq value from the "Agent Status" page (Select Agent-->Edit-->Edit Properties) instead of trying to edit it on the actual "Agent Properties" page.
