QMM Impact to Encryption

If we move a workstation to a new Forest using Quest QMM to move user and workstation from Forest A to Forest B do we need to decrypt/encrypt? Will the TPM module keep us whole?  Any other issues we might hit? Need to ensure user workstations maintain encryption and Antivirus policies. Thank you.

  • This really depends on what encryption software is in use and how it is being used. BitLocker is supported directly by QMM. The recovery keys are migrated from the source AD to the Target AD when the computers are moved.

Other encryption software will require testing as to how you are going to have to deal with it. In some cases, It is a communication and reconfiguration issue. Others is a a decrypt and encrypt issue.
