DFS

Use case Scenario:

Source Domain:

DFS Servers in the source domain

Source user is a member of a Global Security group that have access to an NTFS permission

Source user and Global secuirty group is synchronized to target domain.

Rum Processing is ran on all DFS servers.

Source user is migrated to Target domain,

Question:

will the target user be able to access the file share on the DFS server.?

will Rum process add the target ACL for the target user ?

Accessing  DFS servers after users migrating

  • Hi Belal,

The answer to all three of your questions is yes, all long as the migrated Target User is not part of any well known groups (that cannot traverse the trust boundary) that have been leveraged in the Source security descriptors of the resource they are trying to access
