How Can I Safely Preview NSF File Data Before Starting a PST Conversion?

Hi all,
I've been tasked with migrating some old Lotus Notes data (NSF files) to Outlook, and before jumping into the complete NSF-to-PST conversion, I'd like to preview the contents first — mainly to check for data accuracy and completeness.
Does anyone know of a method or tool allowing a safe preview of NSF file contents (emails, attachments, contacts, etc.) without converting the entire file? Ideally, I'd like something to display the mailbox structure and individual items before exporting anything.
Any recommendations or tools you've used successfully would be appreciated. I appreciate any help you can provide.

  • If you're planning to convert Lotus Notes NSF files to PST, it's absolutely wise to preview the data beforehand—especially if you're doing a selective migration. Previewing ensures that your emails, contacts, calendar events, and other items are intact and exactly what you want to export. It also helps avoid transferring unnecessary or corrupted data into your Outlook environment.

When I was preparing to convert my old Lotus Notes archives, I used the eSoftTools NSF to PST converter tool that included a built-in preview panel. After loading the NSF file, it displayed all folders and let me browse through individual items like emails and attachments. I could easily select only the content I needed, which was a big time-saver and gave me confidence that nothing critical would be missed. If you're trying out a converter, make sure it has this preview feature—it's honestly one of the most important things to look for, especially if you’re dealing with large or sensitive datasets.
