Introducing RemoteScan - Securely scan documents in any virtual environment
Quest® RemoteScan® Universal is a software solution that lets you scan directly from your document scanner to any hosted software that requires an ISIS driver. You can access scanners connected to workstations running in Terminal Server (TS)/Remote Desktop Session Host (RDSH), VMware, Citrix or Microsoft Azure environments — without compromising network security, or establishing shared folders or directories. This network document scanner software also provides you with stable and seamless image acquisition in hosted environments without having to worry about server boots. You can share a single scanner or imaging device much like a printer over a LAN, WAN or IP network.
Use any number of scanners in a remote desktop environment, such as Azure Cloud, Terminal Server/RDSH, Citrix or VMware. Scanning software on the server detects scanners at remote locations as if they are locally attached.
Use all TWAIN- and WIA-compliant scanners and image capture devices, including high-capacity sheet-fed scanners, card scanners, all-in-one devices, webcams, flatbed scanners and digital cameras. Additionally, RemoteScan can be used with Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500, iX100, S1300i and S1100i scanners.
Maintain your network traffic speed because the software uses highly efficient, lossless compression for transmitting data. Users can also select lossy compression for even faster scan speeds.
Keep your existing firewall settings because RemoteScan Universal uses native RDP, VMware PCoIP and Citrix ICA/HDX protocols.
Ensure security of your documents because scanned images are transmitted immediately to the server using encrypted virtual channels. Easy to deploy and manage large installations.
VDI and Remote Desktop Services work for applications, but not as well for connected hardware like scanners and other imaging devices. While Windows’ USB redirection can connect scanners into VDI and RDS sessions, the resulting user experience can be less
Virtualizing desktops made life easier for medical professionals, but imaging devices became less reliable. The widespread embrace of virtualization and virtual desktops evolved the architecture completely. While some physical device might still remain in

The use of desktop virtualization is becoming more prevalent for both enterprise and mid-market organizations. Unfortunately, one thing that catches organizations off guard is the poor performance and latency issues that devices such as document and web-c
