New Release! Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise 11.7

I'm very happy to report that a new release of Spotlight on SQL Server Enterprise (version 11.7) is now available.  This is a relatively minor release, mostly including fixes, although there are two enhancements worth mentioning.  One that has been asked for by many customers, and another that should simplify how long term data is accessed in Spotlight.

  • When a configuration template is deployed, a user will now have the option of only deploying specific changes out to the target connections.  Previously, customers had to deploy the entire template, which would overwrite any previous changes that a user had made.  Users now have the option of making just a few alarm changes, and deploying only those changes, without overwriting everything else.  Below you can see a screenshot from 11.7, where you can choose which changes you wish to deploy:
  • In the past, Spotlight had two methods for viewing long term data that is stored in the Spotlight Statistics Repository.  Views were available directly inside of the Spotlight console, and Reports were available either in the Spotlight console, or deployed to SQL Server Reporting Services.  In version 11.7, all of the information, previously only available in views, are now available as reports, meaning that all Spotlight historical information is now available either in Spotlight, or via SSRS.
