Data replication to the Microsoft Azure cloud — New tech brief

Nobody ever got fired for replicating backup data to the cloud. In fact, data replication is a pretty good idea.

And third, it relieves you of the burden of maintaining onsite storage, transferring that burden instead to a cloud service like Microsoft Azure.

QoreStor replicates data to multiple sites or the cloud

Cloud replication has the advantages of almost unlimited capacity as your storage requirements grow. It offers cost-effective business continuity in the event of a disaster and built-in redundancy for an extra layer of protection.

QoreStor replicates between a source instance in your data center and a target instance at a disaster recovery site. That site could be in another building, another city, another region or in the cloud. The tech brief walks you through setting up the QoreStor target in the Azure cloud for a deduplicated backup from which to restore when needed.

Want to back up directly to the Azure cloud? Besides replicating backups to the cloud for disaster recovery purposes, you can also use QoreStor as a primary storage target for direct-to-cloud backups. QoreStor Rapid Plugins deduplicate data right at the source, then send the encrypted data to QoreStor installed in the Azure cloud.
