Quest & One Identity Ireland Host Student Work Experience Placement Program

Last month, our Cork, Ireland Team took part in mentoring and hosting 12 students for a week of work experience right here in our local office.

In Ireland, all students must complete work experience during their fourth year of secondary school known as Transition Year. Since 2016, this program has provided meaningful work experience to students along with insight into the workings of the fast paced IT industry. Students also are exposed to the various roles within a business, such as Sales, Finance, Human Resources, IT etc.

During the week students visited our office, they learned and practiced sales skills, PowerPoint, Excel, coding and public speaking (presentations) as well as received social media training. The students also learnt what it is like to work in Finance and Sales Support. They attended workshops on CV (resume) and interview preparation, personal branding and participated in an interactive discussion on career paths. Many of our teammates generously gave their energy, time and shared their own career experience by taking part in workshops and discussions.

At the end of the week, students delivered team presentations to our Quest and One Identity team as well as to their teachers. Cork's Deputy Lord Mayor, Councillor Des Cahill attended the presentation as our honorary guest and presented certificates of completion to each of the students.
As employees, we enjoyed watching the students take pride in their presentations and listening to their feedback on the week, which many said was rewarding, valuable and insightful on the job market / working world. Case in point: the following note from a student.

"Hi, thank you for last week it was really enjoyable and made me rethink my options about not going to college and completing my leaving (schooling). I'm very happy to say I'm going to go to college and do my leaving cert thank you again."

As a team, we're delighted with the success of the week in helping to broaden students' outlook on their career choices as well as being able contribute to the local Cork community.

  • I can say this about essays because I've had to write one myself, so. It is very difficult to find data on such topics, they are often closed, so it was not easy for me. Luckily I found a company that was able to help me write essays. For example, you can also look here more info for example with an assessment of this particular company. I know from experience that it is better not to apply to it, the quality there is lame. But I learned it only thanks to such analytics and did not fall for a bad company, so also study beforehand.
