I was asked recently if there are any alerts when Foglight has a problem collecting data.
The answer is, there are several ways.
For SQL Server, there is a rule named "DBSS-Collection Status" that can be managed via alarm templates and notification channels. There is the same rule for Oracle named "DBO-Collection Status."
For other agents along with the agent managers, there are some core rules that can be accessed via Administration -> Rules & Notifications -> Rules.
For email notification of these rules, simply set the value of Global Notifications to 1 or more email addresses and save it.
