Redundancy in Change Auditor

Hi

Currently Our environment has one application server and one sql server configured in Change Auditor

we would like to if we can configure two application servers and two DB servers.

In case if one of the application or DB server goes down we can have other two.

Please advise if this is possible or let us know other possible ways to configure redundancy in Change Auditor.

Thank you.

  • Having multiple Coordinators (application servers) is supported and recommended. Change Auditor also supports SQL clustering and Always On Availability Groups. The Change Auditor agents will be aware of the multiple Coordinators and will automatically continue communicating with the work Coordinators in the event one goes down. The SQL redundancy I have seen should be transparent to Change Auditor, be it a SQL Cluster or Always On listener. You can also review support article 93291.

  • Thank you Richard for your quick response. Do we have any documentation available to configure this cluster configuration.

Please share if there is any documentation or KB article.

  • For the SQL configuration, no. The configuration of this will be dependent on the type of SQL infrastructure you have. Change Auditor's Technical Insight Guide under the "Change Auditor built-in fault tolerance" section and in the Install Guide under the "Install multiple coordinators" section provide information related to Change Auditor's redundancy.
