I’m wondering whether I should let my queen ant hibernate through the winter or try to keep her active. I have a Formica queen and I’ve read that some species naturally enter dormancy during colder months. Should I let her rest in a cool, dark place and just offer occasional food and water, or do I need to maintain a specific temperature to encourage activity? I’d love to hear how others have managed their queen ants during the winter months.
