Knowledge Portal

Installing Knowledge Portal on Server 2016 Standard with SQLExpress. I continue to get 404 errors no matter what i try. Could it be as simple as KP does not work with SQLExpress?

I have updated permissions on the IIS web pools, validate system admin role on the db etc..

Any Ideas?

Sorry I don't know. You will need to get hold of the team that develops and supports Knowledge Portal for that information.

Hi Alex, Your are correct that Knowledge Portal does not work with SQLExpress. While I have never tried to use SQLExpress, it only uses SQL Server 2008 thru 2016 according to the Release Notes and Installation Guide. I only use SQL Server in my lab. You may want to check Quest Support and see if they have any articles on using a DB other than SQL Server.

Is the problem with SQL Express per se or a lack of SQL Reporting Services? Alex didn't mentioned whether this is installed or not.
