Start service linux foglight

Hi Daniel,

If you want to start Foglight as a daemon, you should be able to run:
./fms.sh -d
in the the /foglight/bin directory.

If that does not work, I would suggest you create a Service Request with Support.

I open the /foglight/state/file.log and the message is that ERROR: COULD NOT START LAUNCH AS YOU ARE NOT THE OWNER OF STATE DIRECTORY

Hi Daniel,

For security reason, FMS can only start if they are binary/directory owner.

Here is what you need

su - <user> (user is owner of home/administrador/Dell/Foglight/bin directory)
cd /home/administrador/Dell/Foglight/bin
./fmsStartup.sh

I installed as administrator but then I was trying to run ./fmsStartup.sh with sudo -s root. Thanks

Foglight will not run as root. Foglight runs as user foglight.. and foglight user must own the entire set of directories where Foglight is install. Even running as su - foglight won't work if foglight does not all all the dirs.. I learned that the hard way..
