Is it possible to trigger an email in the form of 'reset' for an event id under 'Record Severity' rule?

Hi All,

Under 'Record Severity'  rule, I see different severities defined which includes 'Fatal/Critical/Warning.' So far so good, but when I checked the 'Normal' option I did not find anything defined under severity rule variables or in the action tab.

I am trying to achieve an email notification in the form of 'reset' whenever a certain event id is cleared from the alarm console. I am thinking of a way to include an event id that would function as a reset for an alerted event id i.e., if 123 is the alert event id, then by defining 456 event id somehow I should get an email indicating that the issue with the event 123 is resolved.

Please provide your thoughts on how to achieve this along with any other possibilities of achieving the same.

Thank You

AJ

  • Hi Darren, thanks for your reply but this is not what I am looking for. What you showed in the blog talks about how to use normal action for an alarm. In here I am asking about how to use a normal action for an event id in question to trigger an email in the form of reset. I looked in the object types to query the scope but seems I am missing something.
