Has anyone set up the Management Server External Database on AWS RDS (Either PostgreSQL or Aurora PostgreSQL)?

I'm deploying Foglight for the first time (currently using Spotlight) and am looking to put the backend external database on an Aurora PostgreSQL instance.  Does anyone know if this is possible and if so, has anyone actually been successful with it?

Thanks!

  • Hello Robert,

officially we support PostgreSQL versions 9.4.x, 9.5.x, 9.6.x, and 10.x as external Foglight database. Details are here:
    support.quest.com/.../3

Aurora PostgreSQL has not been tested and we cannot guarantee that it will work properly. Foglight uses JDBC for the DB operations, so if Aurora PostgreSQL supports JDBC, it might work with Foglight, but it is not supported officially.

    I hope that helps.

    Kind Regards
    Nicola

  • Hi Robert,

We have been running one of our FMSs on Aurora PostgreSQL for a little over 2 years, and have not had any issues. We also have just install 4 new FMSs, all using Aurora PostgreSQL, with out any issues, but this are new and do not have much load yet. The Aurora PostgreSQL that has been used for over two years is PostgreSQL 9.6.12.
