I have the following metrics to be monitored in Foglight. Please let me know the right metrics to select in Foglight.
1. VM Disk Consolidation Needed Alarm
2. Network connectivity Lost
3. Lost Storage Path Redundancy
4. Network Uplink redundancy lost
Hi, could you explain what each of these is referring to? Is this for VMware? FVE and Evolve has a vast array of metrics collected along with several optimization advisories, so it's difficult to tell from the information provided above.
I had a similar case recently where we discussed something like this and I suggested posting the question here in the forum. Adding context will definitely help you get a better answer.

These alerts are already configured in the vCenter servers using the out of the box monitors. We need to setup the same in Foglight.
The vmware agent can collect these OOB vSphere alarms directly from the vCenter and relaunches them from Foglight using the "Process vSphere Alarms" rule.
Alarms Collection Enabled: If you want to collect VMware alarms from the monitored system, set this to True. Otherwise, select False.
It seems that starting from version 5.6.16.x it's disabled by default, so you may need to enable it manually.
Give it a try, I hope this is what you were looking for.

Yes, enabling that setting will make the VMware agent to collect all vSphere alarms and that Rule will process those to trigger an alarm (notification) in Foglight. As a side note, please keep in mind that this will add some additional load on Foglight server depending upon how many alerts are created in VC (which is part of the reason it is disabled by default).

Hi Prasad,
We are not going to collect the vcenter alarms. Because there are number of vcenter servers available. So, customer don't want to configure these alerts on every vcenters. I couldn't find the right metrics in the Foglight.

As you already know, Foglight is Performance monitoring tool. The items you have mentioned do not have any performance data associated with it meaning these are rather states of the VMWare objects and vCenter alarms are the only way to know about these states which was the reason we suggested to collect vCenter alarms.
