I’m diving into advanced 3D modeling and animation workflows and considering upgrading to a dedicated 3D workstation. I often use Quest's 3D tools like QuestCAD Pro and Quest Render Suite for creating high-detail models and real-time renders. While my current setup—a laptop with an Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GTX 1650—handles smaller projects, it struggles with complex scenes and high-poly rendering.
I’m looking at workstations with specs like an AMD Ryzen Threadripper or Intel Xeon processor, 64GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA RTX A5000 or 4090 GPU. Is this overkill for Quest’s software, or will it future-proof my workflow?
Additionally, I found some 3D workstation options, but I’d like to know if anyone has had hands-on experience with Quest tools on high-end hardware. Do Quest's tools benefit significantly from workstation-grade GPUs and ECC memory, or could I achieve similar results with a high-performance gaming rig?
