Intel Evo Laptops Causing Quest VPN Connectivity Issue

Hey Quest Community,

We’re experiencing a frustrating issue after deploying Intel Evo laptops Yoga 9i (Intel Evo) across our organization. When using Quest Secure Access VPN, we’re seeing random disconnects every 30-90 minutes – but only on Evo devices.

Key Symptoms:

  • VPN drops occur during sustained transfers (large file uploads to on-prem servers)

  • No issues on our older Dell OptiPlex desktops with same VPN config

  • Event logs show "WAN Miniport (IKEv2) error 13801" right before disconnect

Troubleshooting Attempts:

  1. Updated to latest Quest Client v12.4

  2. Disabled Intel’s Dynamic Tuning Technology in BIOS

  3. Tried both Wi-Fi 6E and Thunderbolt docking station Ethernet

Critical Impact:

  • Breaks RDP sessions to our Quest KACE appliance mid-patching

  • Finance team can’t complete month-end SAP reconciliations

Questions for the Community:

  1. Is this a known conflict between Evo’s power management and Quest VPN?

  2. Any registry tweaks for IKEv2 stability on 12th Gen P-cores?

  3. Should we push Quest Support harder for an Evo-specific patch?
