users Outlook showing form cache may be corrupt, clear form cache
  • We are seeing the same thing after Microsoft Patch Tuesday updates. The typical Clear Custom Forms in Outlook: Options: Advanced: Developers is not working. I am creating a ticket for us. If they respond, I will share out.

    • Sweet! Thank you so much!

      • Recent Microsoft updates for Outlook have resulted in the prevention of opening archived emails. This issue appears to be impacting multiple third party products in Outlook.

Metalogix Archive Manager users will see the following warning within Outlook "If you can see this Information, your form cache is probably corrupt. Please clear the form cache"

Please note that clearing the cache will not resolve this issue.

Currently the following updates are believed to be responsible for the loss of functionality:

        KB4011098 - support.microsoft.com/.../september-5-2017-update-for-office-2016-kb4011098

        KB4011090 - support.microsoft.com/.../descriptionofthesecurityupdateforoutlook2013september12-2017

        KB4011086 - www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

We are working directly with Microsoft on this issue and will provide updates as soon as we have them.

At present the only workaround is to not install the updates for Outlook. However, we strongly recommend that customers evaluate any risks associated with not being current with Microsoft Updates before deciding to take this action.

        • We didn’t install any of the KBs listed below. Here is what we installed. KB# for this patch Tuesday for Office are the following: one of these is the culprit KB#3213626, KB#4011089, KB#3213631 and KB#4011055. I am reversing a virtual desktop to determine if the fix has been applied. Note, that this is only on desktops. The server has not been patched at this time.
          • Thank you Ronny I will get those kb#'s into the right hands.

            • Pat- We haven’t had success with your instructions. Please see my Case#00150110 or have someone look at it so we can get assistance.
              • What instructions ?

                • Will do, as you can imagine this has caused some traffic to the support team for the product, so there could be a bit of a delay.

                  • Hi Kelly I just marked the official statement as the best answer, I will keep that up to date as it progresses. you should see it highlighted now.

                    • Kelly- uninstall any Microsoft Updates since their Tuesday release. So basically anything that was installed 9/12 through today. Pat indicated this worked for some customers but it didn't work for me. You can find the Microsoft Updates in the control panel under Windows Updates (Installed Updates) unless you update your machines differently.
