How can i copy an Account name to another field during a migration from 2010 to SPOnline?

We know how to map missing accounts to another account, but my customer wants to keep historical Modified By information for users that no longer exist. If an account is missing, can we copy that account information into another field for legacy/auditing purposes

I just noticed that the documentation states "The Automap Created/Modified Meta Info check-box option is available in the Mapping Options section of the copy options dialog" this looks like it will meet my needs, but I don't see this option. When was this added to CM? My customer has 8.2.0.2

Upon further review, it looks like this option is only available when using the Native Web Service to connect to an older version of SP and will not work at all with SharePoint Online. Thus my original question still stands.
