Can we analyze the SP 2010 content DBs directly, using Migration expert, without needing a SharePoint 2010 installation?

We have a customer, for whom there was migration done a year (by someone else) back -from SP 2010 to O365 using Content Matrix. 

After a year, they have discovered, that some sites were not migrated and there are issues with permissions.

All they have is a backup of the SP 2010 content DB. The Farm has been decommissioned.

 

Can we analyze the SP 2010 content DBs directly, using Migration expert, without needing a SharePoint 2010 installation?

The way we are thinking to go about this is - get an inventory of source, compare against whats in O365, get the delta and do selective - re-migration using Content Matrix.

    Hi Ayshwarya,

     

    No, unfortunately this wouldn't be possible since the SharePoint 2010 environment/ farm have been decommissioned. The SP2010 environment would still need to exist, not just the backup of the content database.
