When performing a migration of a site, disabled/deleted users are replaced by either the account of the person running the job or an account that is specified in the job. Why does it do this instead of keeping the old account associated with the content?

  • Hi Jarom,

It's actually a SharePoint API limitation. When Content Matrix copies a user, a method such as validateUser will be called to check if it is in Active Directory and active. If not, the SharePoint API will not allow Content Matrix to add it.
