Why are localized ressource names not working after migration.

After a SP2010 with Danish language pack migration to SP2016 with Danish language pack, the SP default list contenttype names are not localized for Danish but instead pointing to ex $Resourcescmscore,contenttype_welcomepage_name;

The correct path to a ressourcefile would be with a colon after $Resources ex.

$Resources:cmscore,contenttype_welcomepage_name;

The en-US locale is showing the correct name.

Does Content Matrix not support localization?

  • Hi Bo,

    Yes, Content Matrix supports localization as long as the language packs are installed in the target environment.

  • I have Danish language pack on both source and target environment. I can even find the Danish resource file and the keys in it but the migrated standard SharePoint list contenttype names are not using it.

    If I use Powershell to the get the list contenttypes I can see the names are not pointing to a resource file but have a value of ex $Resourcescmscore,contenttype_welcomepage_name; (without the : )
