For ControlPoint reports, what is a "hit" defined as?

It's been assumed that a hit is a vistor, and the as such the statistics do no match up. It seems that hit is any visit to any object in a SharePoint site, whether that object is a site, subsite, content, etc.

We need clarification so our upstream reporting to Management is accurate.

  • Hi Peter,

Hits in ControlPoint analysis reports represent the number of times an object (e.g. page) is viewed. Depending on a number of factors (e.g. SharePoint variation, activated features), the SharePoint site usage report data may be

    different from that of ControlPoint.

    Regards,
