How can I authorize another user to have access ControlPoint?

How can I authorize another user to have access ControlPoint?
  • Hi Warren,

You can give access to another user by assigning them the following permissions -

In order to access and utilize ControlPoint, an account should have some level of permissions to the ControlPoint Configuration Site and SharePoint as well.

    Steps –

    1.   Navigate to the ControlPoint Configuration Site > Site Settings > People and Groups > Select ControlPoint Application Administrators group > Add the user

    2.   Navigate to Central Administration > Security > Manage the farm administrators group >add user

    3.   Once the group has been updated, recycle the ControlPoint application pool in IIS Manager.

  • My web pages don't look like what you've described (we are on release 5.4.1631.0). I can get to ControlPoint Settings, but then I do not see Site Settings nor People and Groups

  • Hi Warren,

First you have to navigate to the ControlPoint Configuration Site also known as the root site. You can get there by going to http://<servername>:1818 or by going the ControlPoint application page > Select "Manage" > then select " ControlPoint Configuration Site".

Once you're at the ControlPoint Configuration Site, you'll selecting "Site Settings" and then People and Groups.

    Kind Regards

  • Hi Warren,

You may access the ControlPoint Configuration Site by doing any of the following:

    • Launch the ControlPoint application, click Manage, expand ControlPoint Configuration and select ControlPoint Configuration Site.
    • Open a browser and enter the ControlPoint Configuration Site URL (e.g. http://servername:1818)

    I hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Cyrus
