How to copy all subfolders from Folder_A to Folder_B without having to select every subfolder?

Folder_A has 1,000 subfolders. Those subfolders must be copied/migrated to Folder_B. We can't "shift + select" all of the subfolders in Folder_A because there are too many to display/enumerate in Content Matrix. We can't just select Folder_A because it would just copy/migrate the parent folder, Folder_A, into Folder_B which is not the goal. Is there away to achieve this?

  • Hi Eric,

Provided the target folder (Folder_B) already exists, you may right-click on Folder_A, select Copy Folder, right-click on the target folder and select Paste Folder Content > All List Items and Folders.

  • Hi Cyrus. Thanks for the reply. I left out a very important detail Wink …This a file server to SPO migration, using 8.7.0.1 File Share Edition. We don’t have the option “All List Items and Folders”. I can’t see a way to do this in the GUI. I’m okay if the answer includes PowerShell. What are your thoughts?
  • Hi Eric,

Unfortunately, we don't have a readily available script to migrate sub-folders and their files to an existing target SharePoint folder. You may either (a) perform a Paste Folder action in Content Matrix File Share Edition, which will copy Folder_A, including its sub-folders and files to the target environment, or (b) generate a PowerShell script for the Paste Folder action, then modify it as needed.
