Google Shared Drives can't migrate to mail-enabled security groups

on-prem security groups have been mail-enable as a requirement to sync to Google to maintain shared drives, these same mail-enabled security groups are synced to O365 with AADConnect..  No on-premise Exchange, mail attribute is modified in ADUC.

ESSO365 migrates Google Shared drives to O365 Group Type,  this is probably more of a Microsoft question by figured I would try here since the issue is restricting the Shared Drives migration and maybe someone has seen this before.

Is there a way to convert groups on-prem or in O365 without exchange on-prem (using DL conversion).or is there a way to use these security groups to maintain the O365 group membership.  I have looked at write-back scripts using AADConnect however it appears to also require exchange.

  •  Check Internet Connection

    • Stability: Ensure that your internet connection is stable. A weak or intermittent connection can cause file transfer issues.
    • Speed Test: Run a speed test to confirm that your connection is fast enough for file transfers.

    2. Verify OneDrive Storage Space

    • Storage Quota: Check if you have enough storage space available in your OneDrive account. If you're nearing your limit, consider deleting unnecessary files or upgrading your storage plan.

    3. Check File Permissions

    • Access Rights: Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to access the files in Google Drive and that they are not restricted.
    • Shared Files: If the files are shared with you, confirm that you have the right to copy them.

    4. Use the Right Method for Transfer

    • Manual Transfer: If you're copying files manually, consider downloading them from Google Drive to your local device and then uploading them to OneDrive.
    • Third-Party Tools: Consider using third-party tools like MultCloud or cloud transfer services that facilitate direct transfers between cloud services without downloading.

    5. Check for File Size and Type Limitations

    • File Size Limits: Ensure that the files you are trying to copy do not exceed OneDrive's maximum file size limit (currently 100 GB for individual files).
    • File Types: Some file types may not be supported by OneDrive. Check if the files you are transferring are compatible.

    6. Look for Sync Errors in OneDrive

    • Sync Status: Open the OneDrive app and check for any sync errors. Look for notifications or error messages that may indicate what went wrong.
    • Pause and Resume Sync: If there are sync issues, try pausing and then resuming the sync process.

    7. Check Google Drive Status

    • Service Outages: Visit the Google Workspace Status Dashboard to check if there are any ongoing issues with Google Drive that might affect file transfers.

    8. Clear Cache and Cookies

    • Browser Issues: If you are using a web browser to transfer files, clear your browser's cache and cookies, as this can sometimes resolve unexpected issues.

    9. Update Applications

    • Latest Versions: Ensure that you are using the latest versions of the OneDrive and Google Drive applications. Updates often include bug fixes and improvements.

    10. Contact Support

    • Technical Assistance: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider reaching out to the support teams for Google Drive or OneDrive for further assistance.
