Exchange 2010 Divestiture into Office365

Looking for thoughts related to Exchange 2010 Divestiture scenarios into Office365...  The key here is that the "Source" organization is already on Exchange 2010.  Does QMM support this scenario (I want to say that the Source org in QMM must be 2k3 or 2k7)...  QMM would be preferred to use so that the workstations and mailboxes can both be migrated to the new on-premises domain / Exchange Online environment together.  Any thoughts on how others have handled this scenario?

  • Joe, I think you will have to wait another 3-4 weeks, until QMM 8.9 is released, this version will support a migration from Exch 2010. It has been also improved drastically, seems everybody is looking forward to try all the nice features.

The current build indeed supports only 2003/2007 as source.

  • Thanks… I did read that after posting the question. From the additional resources that I have reviewed since posting, it looks like the two solutions for the mailbox portion of this is to either:

    1. Use QMM 8.9 or newer (due to be out by end of August 2012)

    2. Use OnDemand migrator since it supports Exchange 2010 as a source
