Using DSDBUTIL.exe to backup AD LDS instance

I want to create a backup of the AD LDS instance several times a day. Is it safe to backup the AD LDS instance, with DSDBUTIL, while all QMM services are running? The server with the AD LDS instance is running QMM for AD/Exchange.

We normally use Recovery Manager for AD to backup and restore the AD LDS DB. I nightly scheduled is the norm. So to me several times a day seams extreme. If you are that worried about backup and restore of the DB, why not install a replica of the instance?

You must stop the AD LDS Instance for the backup to proceed, which means that you must stop the DSA services for that to happen.
